Die Reihe adressiert den Weltraum als etablierten und zugleich umkämpften Handlungsraum internationaler Politik, Regulierung und strategischer Interdependenz. Im Mittelpunkt stehen u.a. Fragen institutioneller Steuerung, sicherheitspolitischer Stabilität, ökonomischer Ordnungsbildung und langfristiger Nachhaltigkeit der Weltraumnutzung. Die Reihe umfasst theoriegeleitete und empirisch fundierte Beiträge aus den Politik-, Sozial-, Rechts-, Wirtschafts- und Sicherheitswissenschaften ebenso wie aus der Nachhaltigkeits- und Entwicklungsforschung, Ethik und Technikfolgenabschatzung. Ziel ist es, den wissenschaftlichen Diskurs über den Weltraum als politisch regulierten, sicherheitsrelevanten und normativ geprägten Raum substanziell und disziplinenübergreifend zu erweitern.
The series “Governance, Security, and Sustainability in Space” addresses space as an established and, at the same time, contested arena for international politics, regulation, and strategic interdependence. It focuses on scientific works with independent theoretical and conceptual aspirations. The focus is on issues such as institutional governance, security policy stability, economic order formation, and the long-term sustainability of space utilization. The series includes theory-driven and empirically based contributions from the political, social, legal, economic, and security sciences, as well as from sustainability and development research, ethics, and technology assessment. The aim is to substantially expand the scientific discourse on space as a politically regulated, security-relevant, and normatively shaped space in a cross-disciplinary manner.
