Ihr Themenspektrum reicht von den Legitimationsproblemen der Weltgesellschaft bis zur lokalen Organisation von Gesellschaft und Demokratie, von europäischen Verfassungsfragen bis zum rasanten Wandel des Bildungssystems, von der Transformation der transnationalen Öffentlichkeit bis zur Zukunft des Nationalstaats. This interdisciplinary series of publications documents new developments in political sociology. The papers it contains combine current political problems with theoretical analyses on society, politics and law. The topics they deal with range from global society’s legitimation problems to the regional organisation of society and democracy, from European constitutional matters to rapid changes in the education system, and from the transformation of the transnational public sphere to the future of the nation state. These studies aim to both analyse contemporary politics and to comprehend the political, social and legal conditions of the new world order, its complex communication networks and its norm-building processes.
