Based on its underlying principle of including works which employ diverse methods and cover a variety of subjects, the series of publications contains internationally comparable monographs and anthologies with a specific focus on all subjects related to European social and economic history, studies on individual European countries which deal with their subject from a European perspective, and works on the history of supranational European institutions or even on the history of international cooperation.
