Die Reihe ist ein Forum für empirische - sowohl quantitative als auch qualitative - und theoretische Arbeiten im Bereich gesundheitssoziologischer Fragestellungen und daran anschließender, auch über die Soziologie hinausreichender Themen. Dabei reicht die Reihe je nach dem jeweils behandelten Thema in viele andere Gebiete der Soziologie (z. B. Soziale Ungleichheit, Arbeit und Beruf, Familie und andere) und schlägt Brücken in andere Disziplinen wie insbesondere Psychologie, Gerontologie, Public Health und Medizin.

This series provides a forum for empirical—both quantitative and qualitative—and theoretical studies on questions relating to both the sociology of health and topics which relate to and extend beyond sociology. In doing so, and depending on the topic addressed, the series delves into many other areas of sociology (e.g. social injustice, the working world, the family, etc.), while also forging links with other disciplines, such as psychology, gerontology, public health and medicine in particular.
