Dem zugrunde liegt ein breites Revolutionsverständnis: Politisch-gesellschaftliche und kulturelle Umbrüche seit der europäischen Frühen Neuzeit bis in die Gegenwart sind Gegenstand der Bände in dieser Reihe. Sie ist zugleich offen für Fallstudien, vergleichende Untersuchungen oder stärker theoretisch orientierte Arbeiten. Mit der Buchreihe sollen sowohl Dynamiken rapider politischer Systemveränderungen, ihre ökonomischen, sozialen und kulturellen Aspekte als auch die regionalen und internationalen Zusammenhänge und Auswirkungen in den Blick geraten.

By focusing on the phenomenon and instances of revolution, this series of books endeavours to link the field of history with politics and other humanities and social science subjects. An in-depth knowledge and understanding of revolutions that have occurred in history therefore lie at the heart of the volumes in this series: from political, social and cultural upheaval since the early modern period in Europe until today. The editors of the series also welcome case studies, comparative analyses and works which are more heavily theory based. Furthermore, the series aims to portray the dynamics of rapid changes in political systems and their economic, social and cultural aspects as well as their regional and international contexts and effects.
