Die Reihe zielt auf eine an aktuellen Problemen und Herausforderungen orientierte, systematische wie historische Reflexion der Politischen Theorie. Sie bringt ein breites Spektrum an unterschiedlichen Vorstellungen über die Aufgaben, Probleme und Methoden politischer Theoriebildung zur Geltung, so dass sie auch als Forum einer inner- wie transdisziplinären Theoriediskussion in der Politik- und Sozialwissenschaft dient.
Neben Sammelbänden, die regelmäßig die Tagungen der Sektion dokumentieren, umfasst die Reihe auch ausgewählte Monographien aus den genannten Bereichen.

This series of publications aims to present systematic and historical reflections on political theory based on current problems and challenges. It highlights a broad range of diverse opinions on the tasks, problems and methods involved in constructing political theory with the result that it can act as a forum for both interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary theoretical discussions in the fields of political and social sciences. In addition to anthologies which regularly document conference proceedings in this field, it also includes selected monographs from the aforementioned subject areas.
