Die Schriftenreihe fördert neue Denkanstöße, theoretische Einsichten und empirische Studien in der Umweltsoziologie und benachbarter Disziplinen mit soziologischem Umweltbezug. Der Fokus der Reihe richtet sich auf komplexe Umweltrisiken sowie Nachhaltigkeitsthemen mit theoretischem Anspruch und/oder evidenzbasierter Argumentationsführung. Ebenso gefragt sind soziologische Zeitdiagnosen und konzeptionelle Arbeiten zu den Herausforderungen von Umweltinnovationen, etwa im Rahmen der Energiewende oder des globalen Klimawandels. Die Reihe möchte damit auch die deutsche Forschung an die internationale Diskussion über umweltsoziologische Themen anschließen und gleichzeitig ein kritisches Forum zur Öffnung der lange Zeit auf technisch-ökonomische Aspekte verengten Diskussionen um Umweltprobleme sein. Hierbei sollen vor allem inter- und transdisziplinäre Ansätze in der Umweltsoziologie aufgegriffen werden, um Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven und ihre Bedeutung für nachhaltige Gesellschaftsentwicklung aufzuzeigen.
This series of publications promotes new thinking on, theoretical insights into and empirical studies on environmental sociology and its related disciplines. It focuses on studies of a high theoretical standard and/or with a line of argumentation that is based on strong evidence which examine complex risks to the environment and topics related to sustainability. It also welcomes analyses of contemporary sociology and conceptual works on the challenges of creating environmental innovations in the areas of changes in energy policy and global climate change. In this way, this series aims to involve German research in international debate on topics related to environmental sociology and, at the same time, to act as a critical forum through which the discussion of environmental problems, which has been limited to their technological and economic aspects for a long time, can be widened. In this respect, this series aims above all to publish interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approaches to environmental sociology in order to highlight possible courses of action and their significance for the development of a sustainable society from different perspectives.
