englischOn September 16, 2016, the Institute for Comparative Law, Conflicts of Laws and International Business Law in Heidelberg organised an exchange seminar on European Family Law. This conference transcript contains the presentations held by practitioners and academics.

First, Professor Michael Sonntag and Attorney Jürgen Rieck examine the objectives of the Brussels IIa-Regulation and its efficiency. Professor Katharina Hilbig-Lugani und Attorney Svenja Schmidt-Bandelow evaluate the Rome III-Regulation. This is followed by articles on the Maintenance Regulation by Professor Claudia Mayer und Attorney Isabelle Jäger-Maillet, as well as on the Hague Maintenance Protocol by Professor Urs Peter Gruber und Ana-Sabine Boehm. Professor Robert Magnus explains important aspects regarding the Succession Regulation. Finally, Attorney Marco Nademleinsky gives an insight into the practice in Austria.
