englischThis study analyses the reading habits of the 20 to 29 year old subscribers of regional papers, based on the readerscan data of three daily newspapers. The data about the reading habits of the 30 to 45 and the 46 to 49 year olds offers a reference for comparison. This creates a differentiated image. For the study, the different chapters of newspapers as well as topics and text catagories, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, formal criteria such as lengths of texts, use of pictures and charts or the question whether good articles draw readers to a page have been dealt with. Meanwhile, causes have always been taken into account. Thus the analysis provides valuable insights both for the practical task of making a newspaper as well as for the analysis of reading habits.

»Fazit: Eine handwerklich saubere Analyse, die bisherige Erkenntnisse zu den Leseinteressen jüngerer Menschen erneut bestätigt.«
