englischThe debate on food labelling is omnipresent: "formed meat" and "imitation cheese", the so-called traffic light labelling or organic eggs, which are not organic, have been discussed on detail in recent years. But what has and what can be written on the packaging of a food package?

The food labelling law has developed intensive in recent decades. A major innovation was the application of the european regulation on the provision of food information to consumers.

This work analyses the system of horizontal food labelling law in its entirety and asks if it can be called a system of good legislation. In addition to the mandatory labelling elements the optional-obligatory labelling element of nutrition labelling and optional labelling elements are examined.
