englischPhotographs are one the most important mediums of communication today. As a result of society’s growing and varied use of digital photographs, a systematic and structured means of analysing them is becoming increasingly important. Therefore, this book has a methodical and methodological focus.

The author examines the question of how photographs can be analysed according to theory, rules and a qualitative paradigm. In doing so, he also develops a method for analysing photographs which aims at reconstructing their social and cultural meaning. He explains this method systematically and demonstrates it by analysing photos used in advertising.
