englischFor some time now, the transplantations of organs and simple tissues have been a standard procedure in medicine. In contrast, the transplantations of faces, arms, penises and uteri represent new territory in medicine. It is therefore not surprising that the German legislation has not yet explicitly dealt with these so-called composite tissue allografts. It is unclear whether these tissues are to be classified as simple tissues, as organs or as a third group. The aim of this dissertation is to answer all open legal questions related to the transplantation process and to outline a corresponding legal framework de lege lata as well as de lege ferenda.
