englischThe graduate thesis includes life and work of the legal scientist Johann Christian Hasse (born 24th June 1779 - died 18th November 1830). He published important monographies like the law of the Culpa or the marital property regime. Together with other law scientists he edited the law journal „Rheinisches Museum für Jurisprudenz“ in Bonn. Especially in this law journal he published his own legal essays. The thesis illustrates Hasses`s legal approach, in which he tried to get a closer connection between the jurisprudence and the legal practice and the reactions of other legal scientists. Furthermore the work shows Hasse`s influences in the legal discussions in this time. In this context the graduate thesis interprets Hasse`s large correspondence with other important legal scientists like Savigny, Thibaut or Heise.
