The task of social debt counselling is to secure the client's livelihood, intervene in crises and stabilise the client’s financial and personal situation, as well as the joint development and implementation of sustainable solution strategies. This requires a sound knowledge of the theories and methods of social work as well as of the relevant legal regulations in this regard and finance.
This textbook primarily serves students and young professionals as tailor-made and specific introductory literature, both in specialised debtor and insolvency counselling as well as integrated debtor counselling in criminal, addiction or homeless assistance, and other occupational fields of social work.
In addition to imparting legally sound knowledge, it focuses on embedding and applying this knowledge in a counselling context. From a counsellor’s first contact with a client up to a technically good conclusion, it presents the basics of, procedures involved in and opportunities offered by social debt counselling.
Soziale Schuldnerberatung ist ein Arbeitsfeld der Sozialen Arbeit. Existenzsicherung, Krisenintervention und Stabilisierung der wirtschaftlichen und persönlichen Lebenssituation der Klienten, sowie die gemeinsame Entwicklung und Umsetzung von nachhaltigen Lösungsstrategien sind Aufgabe sozialer Schuldnerberatung. Dies erfordert fundierte Kenntnisse der Theorien und Methoden Sozialer Arbeit sowie der maßgeblichen Rechtsvorschriften, wie auch finanzwirtschaftliches Wissen.
Dieses Lehrbuch dient vorrangig Studierenden und Berufseinsteigenden als passgenaue und spezifische Einführungsliteratur, sowohl in die spezialisierte Schuldner- und Insolvenzberatung, als auch die integrierte Schuldnerberatung in der Straffälligen-, Suchtkranken- oder Wohnungslosenhilfe sowie anderen Berufsfeldern der Sozialen Arbeit.
Neben der Vermittlung rechtlich fundierter Kenntnisse, wird vor allem ein Fokus auf die Einbettung und Anwendung dieser Kenntnisse in den Beratungskontext gelegt. Vom Erstkontakt mit dem Klienten bis zu einem fachlich guten Abschluss werden Grundlagen, Abläufe und Möglichkeiten der sozialen Schuldnerberatung dargestellt.
