englischThe core message of this book is that good social work is not possible without personal spirituality. Using Hartmut Rosa's resonance theory and Meister Eckhart's doctrine of being, the author shows that we humans are connected to our counterparts and God, our other self, according to our innermost nature. Avoiding this ‘implicit’ spirituality means alienation and unhappiness. Allowing it individually means a successful life and it forming the professional centre of any social engagement. The relevance of this thesis is demonstrated by three typical challenges in everyday professional life.

Michael Groß is a theologian and has been working in social organisations for over 30 years.
