englischA more and more obvious development of our digitalized society is the convergence of modern media. The convergence of media is at least in parts expedited by apps. Both well-known app store-operators – Apple and Google – take an intermediary position between developers and users. Between those players and their respective interests exists an area of conflict which is only to be solved by legal order.

This book analyzes the (competitive) terms and conditions for accessing app stores on the basis of European and German competition and media law. It is devoted to the central aspect whether the app store-operators have superior market power or predominant influence on (public) opinion both of which could cause need for a legal corrective. Besides, the book analyzes if and to what extent the possible legal corrective exists or rather in which legal context it is to be created.
