The European legislator eliminated the causal legal loophole with the revision of the AVMSD in 2018, which was transposed into national law by the federal and state legislatures. The thesis focuses on the interaction with the platform privilege. On this basis, innovative instruments such as the participation of users are examined. They enable a practicable protection of minors without disproportionately burdening the interests of providers, content providers and advertisers.
