»The present dissertation pursues three goals of different priority: The first and foremost aim of the study is to prepare a comprehensive analysis of and present in an overall context all important Italian legal regulations concerning the production of electricity from renewable resources, independent of their immediate relevance to the author's subsequent analysis of European regulations and comparison of different legal systems. Current reforms to the promotion schemes in place have been considered and commented on. Secondly, the dissertation examines current Italian promotion schemes for electicity from renewable sources in terms of their compliance with the requirements of European law. Thirdly, it compares the Italian and German regulations by describing and assessing their commonalities and differences. This third goal is subordinate to the first two named. The comparison is intended as a supplement to the presentation of the Italian regulations and the author's search for ways of improving them.«
