englischThis study focuses on both E.T.A. Hoffmann’s narrative procedure and analysing certain linguistic figurations in his work; these analyses take the form of exemplary case studies with regard to the aesthetics of literary production. The author terms this Hoffmann’s ‘perspectival ambiguities’, meaning an approach to literary processes identifiable through his use of language. This is shown by way of analysing Hoffmann’s narrative aesthetics as the constant interplay of perspectives on diverse narrative objects. Moreover, this monograph is the first to show that Hoffmann’s poetics was an integral part of his narrative. Its implications could, in turn, become a new narrative object — a truly unique phenomenon in Romantic prose.
Diese Studie gilt dem erzählerischen Verfahren E.T.A. Hoffmanns und der Analyse bestimmter sprachlicher Konstellationen in seinem Werk, wie hier an exemplarischen Fällen gezeigt wird. Daraus ergibt sich das produktionsästhetische Phänomen, das die Autorin Hoffmanns »Perspektivische Ambiguitäten« nennt, ein poetologisch systematisierbarer Zugang zu seinem literarischen Verfahren, das sich einem beständigen Wechselspiel von Blickrichtungen auf diverse Erzählobjekte verdankt. Zudem arbeitet diese Monografie erstmals kohärent heraus, dass Hoffmanns Poetologie Teil seines Erzählens war. Er entwickelte sie narrativ, wobei ihre jeweiligen Rückwirkungen selbst Thema weiteren Erzählens werden – eine Besonderheit in der Prosa der Romantik.
