In den Schriften der Reihe Musica Aesthetica werden musikalische und musikgeschichtliche Phänomene aus inter- bzw. transdisziplinären Perspektiven betrachtet. Der Focus ist dabei nicht ausschließlich auf ein Instrument, eine Komposition, eine Gattung oder eine Art der Aufführungspraxis gerichtet, vielmehr werden auch die übergeordneten kulturhistorischen, gesellschaftlichen, politischen und kultischen Kontexte in den Blick genommen. Die dadurch gewonnenen Erkenntnisse zielen auf eine Um- bzw. Neubewertung des jeweiligen untersuchten Gegenstands ab und sollen nicht nur theoretischen Wert im musikwissenschaftlichen Sinne besitzen, sondern auch Bedeutung für eine differenzierte Herangehensweise bei der künstlerischen Interpretation gewinnen können. Im Vordergrund steht daher immer das Zusammenwirken von Theorie und Praxis der Musik im Hinblick auf eine dem jeweiligen Kunstwerk bzw. der jeweiligen Kunstform immanente Ästhetik und deren Prozesshaftigkeit im Wechsel zeitgeschichtlicher
Gegebenheiten. Die aus objektiven Tatsachen und deren Analyse gewonnenen Ergebnisse
beanspruchen gleichermaßen Relevanz für das wissenschaftliche und für das musikalische Geschehen der Gegenwart. Die Schriften der Reihe Musica Aesthetica richten sich an Wissenschaftler, Interpreten und interessierte Musikfreunde.
In the Musica Aesthetica series, musical and music-historical phenomena are analysed from interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary perspectives. The focus is not exclusively on one instrument, one composition, one genre or one type of performance practice, but also on the overarching cultural-historical, social, political and cultic contexts. The insights gained in this way are aimed at a re-evaluation or reassessment of the respective object under investigation and should not only have theoretical value in the musicological sense, but should also be able to gain significance for a differentiated approach to artistic interpretation. The focus is therefore on the interaction between the Theory and practice of music with regard to the aesthetics inherent in the artwork or art form and its transformation in the context of contemporary historical circumstances.
