In addition to rational reasons such as high prices or quality problems, psychological - often unconscious - resistance to the acceptance of an innovation is also responsible for the reluctance of consumers. The investigation of these psychological resistances to acceptance and the development of a comprehensive model of acceptance based on behavioral science is the subject of this thesis. This closes gaps of the theoretical work of acceptance research and new insights of how to implement and use of innovations can be promoted on the consumer side will be provided.
