As a result, poverty could increase dramatically and become deeply entrenched in social structures, with the result that fundamental alternatives to our neoliberal economic and societal model would need to be found. A genuine and comprehensive commitment to solidarity with the victims of poverty seems to be necessary because the coronavirus continues to polarise and divide the world and its societies. In this book, the author devises a comprehensive approach to combating poverty and discovers the Green New Deal as an escape from the downward spiral of global poverty.
Die gegenwärtige Corona-Krise ist in mehrfacher Hinsicht beispiellos. Vor allem ein erneuter Lockdown dürfte gesellschaftlich verheerende Wirkungen haben – ökonomisch, politisch und psychosozial.
