Die europäische Museums- und Archivlandschaft ist reich an Sammlungen von Kinder- und Jugendzeichnungen aus dem 19. und 20. Jahrhundert: ein Erbe der Kinder aus Kriegs- und Friedenszeiten. Aber wer ergriff die Initiative, Zeichnungen von Heranwachsenden zu sammeln und diese dann Museen und Archiven zur Aufbewahrung zu übergeben? Zahlreiche europäische Sammlungen sind aus einem internationalen Austausch oder durch private Schenkungen entstanden. Die Beiträge erzählen diese „Transfergeschichten“. Sie stellen mit einem Überblick erstmalig bedeutende wie weniger bekannte Bestände und ihre Provenienzgeschichte vor.
