englischDue to his youthful experiences with the end of National Socialism, Günter Gaus wanted to exert political influence. His television interviews »Zur Person« and »Zu Protokoll« gave him the decisive tailwind from the 1960s onwards. With cleverly formulated questions and psychological tricks, Günter Gaus elicited answers that stimulate critical and rational questioning. Using statements by Konrad Adenauer, Willy Brandt, Gustav Heinemann, Helmut Schmidt, Hannah Arendt and Rudi Dutschke, Günter Gaus described the first Federal Chancellor of the FRG, compared consensus with criticism and drew parallels between the German past and the goals of the 1968 movement. Günter Gaus was a questioner who already knew the answers.
