englischThe volume is dedicated to youth drawings, created for a competition by the famous Circus Krone in Munich, 1958. The extraordinary depictions and artworks represent the traditional circus culture and its artistic fields of action, a cultural heritage of teenagers from the post-war generation. For them, the circus was an interesting and inspiring subject. It was still the era of the popular circus world, with its legendary dressage acts and famous wild animal tamers, whose great transformation only began later. In addition, lines of connection to the artist and circus performer Alexander Camaro (1901–1991) are outlined. New aspects for historical youth drawing research as well as for circus research are presented.
