Die ihm zugeschriebene Schrift 'Platon und seine Lehre' enthält die älteste ganz überlieferte Platonbiographie sowie den Versuch lehrbuchartiger Darstellung eines philosophischen Systems, das platonisch sein will, aber zahlreiche aristotelische und besonders stoische Elemente einbezogen hat.
