englischThe debate about exclusion, hate crime and racism has become increasingly heated in recent years, not only in Germany but also in other countries of the West, especially the USA, where the "Black Lives Matter movement" has drawn attention to the almost omnipresent racism in the American police. In Germany, as well, the police are accused of racism, whether rightly or wrongly is a matter of debate. Other topics covered in the anthology include possible discrimination against Turkish-born people in Germany, "racial profiling" and the resurgence of anti-Semitism. Issues of exclusion of people because of their sexual identity, our treatment of the dying, and the biological and psychological basis of the exclusion of "others" are also addressed.

Die Auseinandersetzungen um Ausgrenzung, Hasskriminalität und Rassismus haben in den letzten Jahren immer mehr an Schärfe gewonnen, nicht nur in Deutschland, sondern auch in anderen Ländern des Westens, vor allem den USA, wo die „Black Lives Matter-Bewegung“ auf den fast allgegenwärtigen Rassismus bei der US-Amerikanischen Polizei aufmerksam gemacht hat. Auch in Deutschland wird der Polizei Rassismus vorgeworfen, ob zu Recht oder Unrecht, ist umstritten. Andere Themen, die in dem Sammelband behandelt werden, sind die mögliche Diskriminierung Türkischstämmiger, „Racial Profiling“ und der wieder erstarkende Antisemitismus. Auch Fragen der Ausgrenzung von Menschen wegen ihrer sexuellen Identität, unser Umgang mit Sterbenden sowie die biologischen und psychologischen Grundlagen der Ausgrenzung von „Anderen“ kommen zur Sprache.
