englisch‘I know that I know nothing’ is a popular formula for the basic principle of Socratic philosophy. In this book, it serves as a prime example of fatal misinterpretations of philosophical classics, with the authors discussing more than a dozen such interpretations, which have determined the fate (‘fatum’) of a text. They have chosen the mode of dialogue in order to be able to combine their serious philosophical criticism with the literary lightness of a conversation.
