englischThis work analyses the interrelationship between the formation of a philosophical canon and the practice of editing, using the Akademie edition of Kant's writings as an example, and thus addresses a research desideratum. It focuses on the question of whether inner-philosophical discourses found their way into the editing process in this instance. Specifically, this study examines the philosophical controversy surrounding the first and second editions of the ‘Critique of Pure Reason’. Starting with neo-Kantianism, the analysis of the Akademie edition, whose compilation was presided over by Wilhelm Dilthey, forms the heart of the work. This project is related to the Kant edition by Ernst Cassirer as well as to other available texts by Kant within the classic book series.
