englischThis volume deals with the question of the body and corporeality in an interdisciplinary way. The classical positions of philosophy and theology have treated the question of the human body merely marginally. In this volume, this circumstance is firstly reflected on thematically and critically; secondly, the importance of the body and corporeality is emphasised from the perspectives of different disciplines; and finally, in critical reference to phenomenological and aesthetic perspectives, the urgency of the question of the corporeality of human existence is addressed. This volume also assembles essays by internationally renowned scholars from philosophy, theology and cultural studies, who intend to raise new questions concerning the topic of the body and corporeality.
