englischBy successfully integrating A.N. Whitehead's Process Philosophy into the Philosophy of Mind, a genuinely new position emerges, the Whiteheadian Monism, which is not only argumentatively superior to its competitors, dualism and physicalism, but is also able to philosophically substantiate one of the most current neuroscientific theories, the Integrated Information Theory. Not only does this make the genesis and role of consciousness in nature more understandable, it also allows us to address related current issues, such as the question of the possibility of strong artificial intelligence. This new position thus represents an essential, important contribution to the current debate.
Durch die erfolgreiche Integration der Prozessphilosophie A.N. Whiteheads in die Philosophie des Geistes entsteht eine genuin neue Position, der Whiteheadian Monism, welcher nicht nur seinen Wettstreitern, dem Dualismus und dem Physikalismus argumentativ überlegen ist, sondern auch noch eine der aktuellsten neurowissenschaftlichen Theorien, die Integrated Information Theory, philosophisch zu fundieren vermag. Nicht nur wird somit die Entstehung und Rolle des Bewusstseins in der Natur verständlicher, es lassen sich auch damit verbundene aktuelle Fragen, wie die Frage nach der Möglichkeit starker Künstlicher Intelligenz, angehen. Diese neue Position stellt somit einen essentiellen, wichtigen Beitrag zur aktuellen Debatte dar.
