englischAlthough deontologists traditionally claim a strong moral prohibition on killing, according to the Just War Theory it is permissible to wage war under certain conditions. The proportionality condition requires that the evils caused by a war and the evils prevented by it are in an appropriate proportion to one another. The aim of this dissertation is to show that a deontological interpretation of the proportionality condition goes hand in hand with the fact that Just War Theory collapses into a form of pacifism, the so-called Just War Pacifism.
Obwohl Deontologen ein Tötungsverbot traditionell sehr stark machen, ist es nach der Theorie des gerechten Krieges unter bestimmten Bedingungen erlaubt, Krieg zu führen. Die Bedingung der Proportionalität verlangt, dass die mit einem Krieg verursachten Übel und die zugleich verhinderten Übel in einem angemessenen Verhältnis zueinander stehen. Das Anliegen dieser Dissertation ist es zu zeigen, dass eine deontologische Interpretation der Proportionalitätsbedingung damit einhergeht, dass die Theorie des gerechten Krieges mit einer Form von Pazifismus zusammenfällt, dem sogenannten Just War Pacifism.
