englischThe articles in this volume take up the central themes and changes in the Amended Renewable Energy Sources Act 2014 (EEG-Novelle 2014). The overarching European law issue of compatibility with the requirements of state aid law and the fundamental freedoms is treated and the central aspects of EEG 2014 are described and analysed. Of particular interest in this regard are the system change to a stronger focus on direct marketing and control of the expansion of renewable energies which are implemented with the amended EEG, questions of grid and market integration of renewable energies, reform of the special equalisation scheme and aspects of renewable energy self-supply with new or existing energy plants. Additionally, the liability issues in connection with the grid connection of offshore wind farms, which have not yet been completely resolved, will be examined.
