englischAt the base of modern law lies a contradiction: It is supposed to realise the equality of all and yet, at the same time, permanently produces exclusions and violence. The lives of refugees, for example, seem to be less worthy of protection in the eyes of nation-state legal systems than the lives of their own citizens. The critique of law presented in this book therefore starts with the excluded and develops a biopolitical theory of their resistance based on critical theory and following poststructuralist and postcolonial approaches. Simon Faets works and researches in the field where political philosophy, social philosophy and Christian social ethics overlap.
