From religious education to military chaplaincy, numerous privileges from a time of Christian religious monopoly survive.
Against this backdrop, the pluralism of faith in our society today has enormous potential for conflict. Potential participation in these tasks awakens legitimate desires, especially among Islamic religious associations who refer to the principle of equality. The answer of the secular state can only be the renunciation of any common ground with religions and Churches.
Der anhaltende und teils dramatische Akzeptanzverlust der christlichen Kirchen in der Gesellschaft passt nicht zu ihrer grundgesetzlich begründeten Sonderstellung bei der Bewältigung angeblich gemeinsamer Aufgaben mit dem Staat. Vom Religionsunterricht bis zur Militärseelsorge überleben zahlreiche Privilegien aus der Zeit des christlichen Religionsmonopols.
Der Glaubenspluralismus unserer heutigen Gesellschaft hat vor diesem Hintergrund enormes Konfliktpotenzial. Die Aufgabenbeteiligung weckt besonders bei den islamischen Religionsvereinen berechtigte Begehrlichkeiten unter Hinweis auf das Gleichheitsgebot. Die Antwort des säkularen Staates kann nur der Verzicht auf jede Gemeinsamkeit mit Religionen und Kirchen sein.
