englischSince citizens' petitions were first introduced in Baden-Württemberg in 1956, there have been six cases of citizens' petitions and referendums in Ludwigsburg. Their subjects were as diverse as the discussions in the municipal council, ranging from the construction of the town hall and the redesign of the inner-city traffic axes, to a planned sand sculpture exhibition and the ‘bicycle referendum’. The initiators were also just as varied as the issues in question: some were ordinary citizens, but others were local politicians who resorted to the means of a citizens' petition. Now, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Christopher Schmidt and the head of DISUD, Dr. Peter Neumann, students from Esslingen University of Applied Sciences have taken a closer look at this exciting chapter in Ludwigsburg's history.
