englischThe law of neutrality has gained renewed relevance in the recent Ukraine conflict. It has already been subject of much debate as a result of changes in the international legal system. Nevertheless, the law of neutrality has maintained its place in international law to this day. The author systematically scrutinises this result in the light of contemporary international rules. He comes to the conclusion that, on the one hand, the law of neutrality offers no added value to contemporary international law as its core rules are already covered by contemporary international norms. On the other hand, the author identifies conflicts between the law of neutrality and today's international regulations which, in his opinion, must be resolved to the detriment of the law of neutrality.
