englischOutline of the fundaments of the Principle of Consistency in the European Union. The thesis addresses the different dimensions of Coherence that can be found in the law of the European Union and their respective legal basis. Three major categories of coherence can be differentiated: Coherence in a narrow sense, Coherence of Coordination and Coherence of Valuation. In addition to defining the word Coherence and investigating the legal nature, an emphasis is put on the areas of multi-level governance, the system of legal protection as well as on the protection of fundamental rights. In this course the jurisdiction of the European Court of Justice is evaluated. Under the topic 'Coherence of Valuation' the jurisdiction of the European Court of Justice on gambling is analyzed in more depth.
