englischThis textbook presents the Polish political system, focusing especially on the country’s domestic political changes since the PiS party came to power. The authors analyse, among other things, Poland’s shift from political liberalism to an illiberal democracy. In particular, the book explains the political institutions, but also discusses individual policy areas that are essential for German-speaking readers to know about in order for them to understand Poland’s political system and to assess the degree of consolidation of Polish democracy. In addition, the book explains older political traditions to which political actors and political institutions relate.
Das Lehrbuch stellt das politische System Polens mit besonderer Berücksichtigung der innenpolitischen Veränderungen seit dem Regierungsantritt der Partei PiS dar. Die Autor:innen analysieren u.a. die Abkehr vom politischen Liberalismus hin zu einer illiberalen Demokratie. Das Buch erläutert insbesondere die politischen Institutionen, geht aber auch auf einzelne Politikfelder ein, die für das Verständnis des politischen Systems Polens für deutschsprachige Leser:innen und für die Bewertung des Konsolidierungsgrades der polnischen Demokratie essenziell sind. Zudem werden ältere politische Traditionen erläutert, auf die sich politische Akteure und Institutionen beziehen.
