englischIs democratic society at an end? The belief in the possibility of collective self-governance is in decline today in the face of populist and regressive policies. In response to this crisis, it is necessary to rethink democracy. To this end, this study develops a system of democratic contestation as a dispute over the demos, the kratos and the doxa, taking Hannah Arendt as its point of departure. Starting from these three basic forms of political conflict, it takes a stand with radical, republican and rhetorical theories of democracy and shows how a phenomenological critique can be conducted, with which deep disagreements can then be democratically resolved.
