englischMartin Heidegger's name is primarily associated with the hermeneutic analysis of finitude and the thesis of the historicity of being. Heidegger neither developed a form of normative ethics, nor did he emerge with an independent theory of the state. It is therefore not surprising that the concept of the state is almost absent from Heidegger's critical reconstruction of the metaphysical tradition. Nevertheless, this conceptual absence should not obscure the political implications of Heidegger's narratives. The aim of this anthology is to systematically explore Heidegger's understanding of the state for the first time.
