englischIn Germany, criminal law dogma is traditionally characterised by intensive cooperation between case law and theory. This volume aims to contribute to that cooperation and contains the contributions to a workshop for young academics which addressed eight quintessential issues that case law has recently had to deal with.

The contributions examine the following subjects: standards of certainty in blanket criminal laws (by Dorneck), the delimitation of complicity and aiding and abetting (Ligocka), the issue of aiding and abetting while deployed at a Nazi concentration camp (Leite), the issue of failing to act (Li), criminal liability for autonomous self-endangerment of victims by failing to act (Werkmeister), the substantive content and procedural evidence of recklessness (Mengler), the necessity of acting in self-defence (Pest) and acting in an emergency to uphold legally protected rights (Stam).

With contributions by

Dr. Carina Dorneck, M.Mel; Dr. Alaor Leite, LL.M.; Dr. Yao Li; Dr. Aleksandra Ligocka, LL.M.; Dr. Till Mengler; Dr. Robert Pest; Dr. Fabian Stam; Dr. Andreas Werkmeister
