englischIn view of the ever-increasing globalization of trade in goods, the overseas sale of goods is becoming more important than ever in commercial practice. On the basis of the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods and German maritime freight law, this work presents the legal transactions that are characteristic for overseas purchases and at the same time examines the influence of INCOTERMS 2020 on the contractual network of overseas purchases. Thereby, it becomes apparent for the "modern" container sea transport that the clauses declared applicable do not take into account the interests of the parties to the purchase contract in a balanced manner. The author therefore formulates a proposal for the revision of INCOTERMS 2030 in order to give greater weight to the underrepresented interests of the buyer.
