englischThe digitization represents society - citizens, industry and government and administration - with great challenges. How will digitization change our lives? This conference proceedings for The 3rd Speyer “Forum zur digitalen Lebenswelt 2014” is dedicated to this central question. The contributions give new impulses and offer solutions. First, an overarching forecast of the digital future is outlined. More studies outline the con-sequences of digitalisation for different social areas of life. Mentioned here are the Data Protection Law and Big Data, IT in the cultural sector as well as the new digital world of work and the Internet user's digital sovereignty - also in the context of national and international security authorities. The subject of e-government is analyzed in several articles, such as the equipment status of the state with modern IT, the expectations of the users of e-government and which technical and design requirements must be met.
