englischSovereignty needs to be justified. This also applies to the dictatorship of Islamic State (ISIS). But how does ISIS attempt to normatively legitimise its political system, which is not just the result of a purely nihilistic power project? This study explores this core question and classifies ISIS' form of dictatorship. In doing so, it does not only deal with a purely political science analysis, but also includes an Islamic studies perspective: After all, the ISIS jihadists try to legitimate their system of governance from within Islam. Knowledge of the nature of the justification of ISIS’ jihadist rule is the basic prerequisite for combating this ideology and its conceptions of an Islamic state.
Herrschaft will gerechtfertigt sein. Dies gilt auch für die Diktatur des Islamischen Staates (IS). Wie versucht der IS sein politisches System normativ zu legitimieren, das eben nicht nur das Ergebnis eines rein nihilistischen Machtprojekts ist? Die Arbeit geht dieser Kernfrage nach und ordnet die Diktaturform des IS ein. Dabei setzt sie sich nicht nur mit einer rein politikwissenschaftlichen Analyse auseinander, sondern bezieht ebenso eine islamwissenschaftliche Perspektive ein: Immerhin versuchen die IS-Dschihadisten ihr Herrschaftssystem aus dem Islam heraus zu rechtfertigen. Das Wissen um die Art der IS-dschihadistischen Herrschaftsbegründung ist die Grundvoraussetzung, um diese Ideologie und ihre Staatsvorstellungen zu bekämpfen.
