englischThe administrative system of the European Union (EU) is based, among other things, on administrative units, so-called agencies, which regulate the various areas of life in the EU. This work deals with the strengths and weaknesses of the administrative system in terms of its structure and content and suggests ways to organise EU administration more efficiently. Efficient administration always requires considering the legal protection of citizens. To meet this objective, this book focuses on only those agencies that have an appeal system in its debate on efficiency. These include the EU Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), the Community Plant Variety Office, the EU Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). In addition to various efficiency criteria, procedural guarantees served as a benchmark in the author’s assessment of the efficiency of administrative action in each respective appeal procedure.
