englischUsing content analyses, this work examines the media tenor in the established print media, the most important TV news programmes and on social media in relation to the topic of refugees, while also investigating the opinions of the population in this respect. It addresses a series of research questions which it answers by means of its empirical analyses. The depiction and accommodation of refugees along with refugee policy are important topics in the study. Moreover, the author examines news frames in the media’s coverage of this issue and, in doing so, identifies their tendency to portray it negatively.
