englischThe author of this work on the rights of access to payment systems provides an in-depth analysis of one of the most important conditions for the deregulation of the still highly fragmented European payment landscape. It is the creation of the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) that has removed national boarders in this area and cleared the way for competition in the formally closed national markets for payment services. The right of access to payment systems is essential in this context. Therefore, the author works out the parallels to the deregulation of other network industries and guides through the complex system of applicable competition and banking supervision rules. In the end, the recipient is provided with an overview of the prospects of access claims.
