englischThe effective fight against money laundering is considered one of the greatest challenges of today in terms of criminal law, criminal procedure and therefore also criminal policy due to the international nature of the transaction channels. In this context, national criminal law is significantly influenced by European directives. The dissertation shows that the European "penalisation mania" in the form of the asset-related universalisation of the offence is convincing neither from a criminal law dogmatic nor from an economic criminology perspective. In addition, the - so far rather unknown - phenomenon of transnational money laundering crime in the form of arbitration proceedings is illuminated.
