englischThe heritability of data has recently attracted much attention. Using Facebook accounts as an example, the dissertation develops a generally valid concept for dealing with data after death. It is shown that data is commonly passed on to the heirs. However, the maximum personality of the portal information and, in particular, the rights of the communication partners require further examination. Thus, the work links issues of inheritance law with those of data protection and copyright law, telecommunications law and general contract law. It is explained that data in the result does not pass over itself, but depends on the transfer of the storage medium or the contract.
